The new CLiMET CI-3100 OPT (Ethernet) particle counter is the latest instrument offered by OptiCal Sciences that includes Ethernet connectivity for remote particle monitoring.
The CLiMET CI-309A (Ethernet) Alarm Tower can be used to alert operators of alarms in the environment, enabling them to react quickly to process alarms. The alarm tower has both visual and audible indicators to alert the operators of the various levels/types of alarms in the process environment. This instrument can be used in conjunction with the CLiMET CI-3100 OPT (Ethernet) particle counter to meet your process monitoring requirements.
Both instruments can be fully controlled by your choice of SCADA software and is compatible with industry standard TCP/IP Modbus communication protocols.
Applications
- Continuous monitoring in pharmaceutical manufacturing and hospital clean room environments to meet EU GMP annex 1 requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is the size sensitivity of the instrument? The CI-3100 OPT (Ethernet) model has size sensitivity of 0.5µm and 5.0µm.
What is the flow rate / sample volume of the instrument? The CI-3100 OPT (Ethernet) model has a flow rate of 1.0 Cubic Feet per Minute with automatic flow control set at the factory. The 1 cubic foot or 1 cubic meter, nominal sample times are 60 seconds or 2118.88 seconds but may vary based on flow and laser status during the sample. Sample data is updated once per sample volume continuously; rolling data is updated 60 times per volume (nominally every second or 35.3 seconds).
What can be used to clean the instrument?IPA or hydrogen peroxide can be used as long as the pump is turned off and the particle inlet is capped.
How long is the particle counter covered for under warranty? The CI-3100 OPT (Ethernet) model comes with a 1 year warranty covered by the manufacturer.
How long is the particle counter covered for under warranty? The CI-3100 OPT (Ethernet) model comes with a 1 year warranty covered by the manufacturer.
What is the alarm logic used with the alarm tower? The CI-309A alarm tower communicates via Ethernet Modbus, and has individual coils that can be set for each of the lights and the audiable alarm. Hence, you can program your own logic into the application you use. Alternativly, you can use the
CLiMET DataPro 3 application for your continuous monitoring and set the alarm points using its interface. Please see our
CLiMET DataPro 3 section for more details.
